Let's see what kind of story we can come up with together. I'm going to start a couple of lines to a story. You fill in the next two line and so on. Keep it to two lines at a time in each post and have fun with it. One post per day per person. Wonder were we can take this.
It was a cold rainy night in October. One of those bitterly damp nights that makes you feel as if the world will never warm up again.
Stacie stood out in the rain, cursing her dog and his week bladder, willing him with her mind to hurry up and piddle already. Suddenly, mid sniff around a tree, his head lifted and flattening his ears, he growled.
ReplyDeleteSomething in the night, unseen to Stacie, had grabbed the dogs undivided attention. Straining to get at whatever was there, the dog pulled the chain taut in her hand, making her pull back hard in effort to keep him from taking off into the rainy darkness.
ReplyDeleteStacie peered through the darkness, straining her eyes to see what it was Snickers was seeing;someone was out there. Her hair prickling on the back of her neck, Stacie backed towards the house, trying to drag the dog with her.
ReplyDeleteSnickers was having none of that, the dog fought hard to break free from the chain, standing on its hind legs and snarling. Damn the rain, it made the loop of the dog leash wet and slippery; making it that much easier for her beloved pet to break free from her grasp.
ReplyDeleteStacie's heart sank, as she watched Snickers run off into the night. Paralyzed with fear all she could do was wait. Then she heard...
ReplyDeleteSnickers growl blending with a deeper more sinister rumbling in the darkness. Fear mixed with sorrow when Stacie heard a snarl of attack cut off by a painful yelp.
ReplyDeleteNo sooner than she heard the yelp, the temperature dropped twenty degrees. Stacie could sense the ominous rumble, rapidly approaching.
ReplyDeleteSomething evil and horrible came towards her. With no time to mourn her dead dog, Stacie forced herself to move towards her house.
ReplyDeleteOnly it was no longer her house. In its place, stood an abandoned church.
ReplyDeleteWanting this to be a dream, but fearing it wasn't, Stacie had no time to rationalize what was happening. Pinned between a horrible being behind her, and a strange creepy church in front of her, she tried the doors of the silent building.
ReplyDeleteThey were locked. She threw herslf against them - to no avail. She spun around. The wooden doors were rough against her back as she pressed herself against them, hoping she might miraculously melt into them and out of harms way. The creature was almost upon her
