Evil Dead back in theatres

Just saw on this website that Evil Dead is being re-released in movie theatres and has been since last august but there are still 2011 dates.  Hope it comes close to me!!

Reboots

According to the Daily Dead who's link is in my sites link area to the right, they are rebooting Hellraiser. Does it need rebooting?  Clive Barker is my favorite horror writer so I have a vested interest with this one in saying NO! Somethimes I want to tell them in Hollywood to come up with a new concept on their own or at least if they are going to do a Hellraiser or other established horror franchise...make it another chapter instead of rebooting.  Don't try to change the original to do it "better"...give homage by adding a new and exciting chapter to a horror classic.

This weeks quote for guessing comes from a classic.

Comfortably numb

Yep, just like Floyd...I have become comcortably numb....to rejections that is. I am at the point where I no longer pay attention to them except to look at my submission to see what I might have done wrong in my approach with my query. With each one I pick out where I might have changed it to make it better but other than that...I am numb to the fact that they don't want my project(s) right now. Numb in this case is good. At one time I would have become frustrated or wondered if I am any good. Now I am numb and say NEXT. I've developed thick skin...very thick. I know that one of these days a yes is coming, one of these days I'm going to catch someone by surprise and they are going to say... send me more. Until that time, let them keep saying no...I have become comfortably numb.

Quote of the week

Wow Wednesday has come again. Time for another movie quote to guess so here goes.

"We are now up against live, hostile targets. So, if Little Red Riding Hood should show up with a bazooka and a bad attitude, I expect you to chin the bitch."

I'll answer this today and put up a new one to guess tomorrow.
The answer is...
  Dog Soldiers.
An intense werewolf story set in Scotland. The action takes place during a military drill.

Quote of the week

I guess it is Wednesday again and that means a quote.

What movie is this from?

If you were the only suspect in a senseless bloodbath - would you be standing in the horror section?

Busy

Been busy with work distractions. Doing lots of hours plowing so I haven't been able to tend to my writing or blogging or tweeting, which is kind of frustrating because I have some stories builing up in my head that need to be penned.

I do want to say hello and thanks to the followers who have been reading and or commenting here. I have been able to check the stats on here and have seen a steady increase in viewing since I started this. I've met some good people in the last couple of months and have enjoyed interacting with them and learning about writing etc...

The Cannibal Cookoff is coming up as well as the Cookbook at Indie Horror ( A link to that site is on the right hand side of the blog.) I will be working on entries for both and look forward to reading all of the stories that enter. If you haven't entered yet...what's keeping you?

Also the blogfest at this blog is coming up February 16th.

Should be something fun to try.

Anyways that's what's happening in my corner right now.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blast from the past

This one of the few books I have read that actually spooked me. I first read it during the winter of 1985 while living in a small New England town. Five young men inadvertently kill a woman and then dump her body in a lake. Fifty years later, she seeks revenge. That's the short version of what happens in the book. I thouroughly enjoyed this book that was first published in 1979 and I highly reccomend reading this one if you haven't already.

Quote of the week

Okay I will make this one easier than the last one I did.  The quote is

"Welcome to prime time, bitch."
